Who I Am...
Massage Therapist Since 2007:
Nicole Miller Massage + Yoga is a comprehensive wellness practice offering a range of services to cater to your needs.
Nicole is a Certified Massage Therapist (CMT), Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD-C) specialist, and a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (YTT200). With her expertise, she provides a holistic approach to bodywork and aims to create a relaxing and healing experience for her clients.
If you're looking for post-operative care, Nicole is certified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) for Post Op Massage. MLD is a gentle massage technique that helps reduce swelling and promotes healing after surgery. This specialized service aims to support your recovery process. In addition to MLD, Nicole also offers Prenatal Massage, Therapeutic Massage Cupping and Hot Stones as part of her massage therapy services. Therapeutic Massage Cupping involves using suction cups to create a vacuum effect on the skin, which helps to release muscle tension and improve circulation. Hot Stone massage involves using smooth, heated stones to relax muscles and promote deep relaxation.
Nicole understands the importance of accessibility and inclusivity in wellness practices. She offers a sliding scale for her private Yogasana instruction, ensuring that yoga is accessible to individuals of all financial backgrounds. Additionally, she provides discounts for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) and LGBTQ+ individuals. For added convenience, Nicole offers mobile options, allowing you to enjoy her services in the comfort of your own home or preferred location.
Whether you're seeking relaxation, post-operative care, or personalized yoga instruction, Nicole Miller Massage + Yoga is here to support your wellness journey.
Your First Visit:
During the first visit, Nicole will go over the intake form with you to ensure a comprehensive understanding of your requirements. It's important to note that while the list of massage modalities is not limited, Nicole does not administer full body deep painful massages. However, she does use deep, firm pressure in areas that require it, employing warming, compression, and lengthening techniques to release tension and improve healthy blood circulation. Communication is key during the sessions, and Nicole is here to listen to your body and work with you. Ignoring pain signals and pushing through can increase the risk of injury, so Nicole aims to guide your body's healing process. Frequent visits are encouraged to allow for ongoing conversations between your body and her work, promoting your body's ability to heal itself.
It is important to note that Nicole Miller Massage has a zero-tolerance policy for any kind of sexual conversation, gestures, or inappropriate behavior. Nicole reserves the right to end any paid session immediately if such behavior occurs. It is essential to respect your massage therapist, as they are here to provide professional help and support. Thank you for honoring these important guidelines to ensure a safe and respectful environment for both clients and the massage therapist.

Student to Yoga Instructor:
Nicole has been acquainted with yoga as a student since 2003. As a young adult, she began a meditation practice, working with various holistic healers and acupuncturists, and discovered a profound connection with her body as a budding yogini. Her focus in early years were not based on only asana, as she began her journey in Intention Setting and Chanting shortly after. Multiple 40 Day Practices followed with these Mantras/Chants each day for 40 days. These 40 Day Practices were self guided, with weekly community meetings in a meditation group in Northern Illinois. This place, Meditation, Chanting and Yoga Asanas were the beacon of light for Nicole to begin to strengthen her spirit, honoring her personal growth process for the rest of her life after. Her journey began with yoga as a holistic way to heal herself. She finally added to her personal practice by pursuing yoga instruction in 2016 at Chicago School of Yoga with Instructor David Duerkop. With extensive knowledge of the body, she has learned what many others want is a natural way to self-heal, so she focuses on what the body is doing daily to create a challenging, productive class while giving your body what it needs and guide it back to balance. Practicing at home as well as a variety of traditional yoga studios in Chicago, she is influenced by a mix of Hatha, Yin, Ashtanga and Vinyasa practices, and is happy to individualize a practice for any body. We're not here to show off, all bodies can do yoga, we just have to show UP.
Believing that you are your best when feeling your best was what drove her passion for bodywork, and Nicole really loves the privilege and opportunity to help with that. Moving that focus into Yoga Instruction is no different, and she hopes to continue building on and utilizing her massage knowledge to help you find your place of peace on the table or yoga mat. Nicole is an advocate for ALL BODIES enjoying the benefits of wellness and yoga, currently studying Trauma Informed Yoga, and following the guidance of Susana Barakataki's Embrace Yoga's Roots, Yoga is Dead podcasts with Tejal and Jesal. This practice aims to end the harm in wellness and yoga spaces by honoring this practice, BIPOC, the land and Indigenous Lives in which we're practicing and imposing upon.
*Please note that all sessions are of a professional, therapeutic nature and Nicole Miller Massage + Yoga has the right to decline any client or end any paid session at any time if uncomfortable. We only accept clients that respect Massage Therapy and its practitioners.
