So grateful for rest and recovery.
I was able to take a short trail run this morning. I think of the days (last week) my body wouldn't do much without some pain, and give thanks. To be honest, I spend most of my time as a bodyworker educating clients on the abilities of the body as we physically evolve, and holding compassion for ourselves when we feel critical about not being able to do things we once have. We are still capable of doing so much as we age, but there is wisdom in realizing your 10 miler will now have to be a 5 miler, as pushing through the pain is often not the key.
Your body talks to you all day, everyday. Pain felt in the body is communication. Your body should be your best friend, are you listening?
