![]() I love using my Pranamat Acupressure mat to lessen the tension I've had in my neck and shoulders lately. We're not always able to see others for bodywork, right now especially has us staying in and apart, so you have to be creative. This acupressure mat helps release the tension in your back by simply laying on it for a few minutes. It connects with points on your body to encourage release, and it works. I get a little squirmy my first few minutes but this coupled with ingestion of my full spectrum CBD oil, and I'm ready for the rest of my day. I encourage all clients to find ways to help themselves when their practitioner isn't around. ![]() I took daily movement indoors last week during the rain. 🚴🏽♀️Lots of puddles out there to dodge 💦 @auroraeyoga mat + a @sprytraining resistance band in my bedroom for 20 minutes. I'll share what I did if you have some bands and 20 minutes. These can totally be done without any bands and still be effective: • On all fours • 🐕 15 x 3 fire hydrants (lift leg to side) 🐎 15 x 3 donkey kicks (heel up to sky) [I do child's pose/down dog in between sets] • Standing • 🤢 10 x 2 burpees (do as many as you can, no one's watching) 🍰 25 x 3 side lunges 🍑 25 x 3 squats • On back • 🦋 30 x 2 toe tap sit ups (wide legged sit ups, tap top of foot as you twist torso) 🐡 30 x 2 Russian twists 🌙 30 x 2 oblique ups, each side ▪︎ S p h i n x P o s e ▪︎ 1 min Rest. Eat. Breathe. Drink water. Clean your space. Stay home. I love and miss you, this doesn't have to be it but please move your body if you can today ♡ Aurorae Yoga Mat can be found here: amzn.to/3euIC23 and the SPRY Resistance Ankle Bands here: amzn.to/2xy4kRN #athometogether #homegym #nicolemillermassage #Monday #sandiego #rainyday #gratitude ![]() Follow this link to watch this demonstration on how to loosen up tension in your hands and forearms. Quite a lot of hand pain can reside in tight wrist flexors and extensors, in the arms. Try these out and let me know how it works! www.facebook.com/nicolemillermassage/videos/860677717688283/ I got this awesome hand-saving tool here from a friend years ago, but you can find these here: amzn.to/34FU1XW #athometogether #selfquarantine #selfmassage #nicolemillermassage #forearms ![]() Bolster your quarantine with a good restorative solo session today ❤ Bolsters can be easily replaced with couch cushions, pillows, rolled up blankets or towels. Try these out and try doing 10 breaths each pose. That should be about 3 minutes per pose. These poses can help open the hips, shoulders and low back. If you've been doing a lot of sitting, find a spot on your floor and do these with some support, we all need a little of that right now. 🌹 These are fantastic to do first thing in the morning or right before bed. If doing these in the evening, try taking a bath before to help relax your mind and body. Find this bolster here: amzn.to/3bcW2h0 Be good to yourself, others and please stay home. #athometogether #bolster #sandiego #quarantine #mindandbody #peace #restore #breathe #shelterinpeace ![]() I've been using these cups for a while now and I love their versatility. They were implemented in my mobile massage business to further manual care while keeping things clean and safe. These cups are easily the best thing I have laying around my living room (after my dogs!). With some oil, you can 'park' or glide these cups over tight areas of the back, shoulders, legs and arms. I highly recommend referring to my post here: (www.facebook.com/nicolemillermassage/posts/1379054882282779) and watching some video on the process before you try it out. I do not recommend more than 20 mins at at time as the suction can be more than it feels after some time. You might get a little 'hickey' mark, that is normal and only stagnated blood that's risen to the surface of the skin. It's a good thing as it's moving the tight locked up tissue in the muscle and allowing blood flow and more oxygen which increases healing time. *Please use caution with all in-home therapy and stop use if any negative reactions occur.
